Approved by the faculty on November 20, 2019, with the provision that it would be revisited after the next merit salary increase process to incorporate feedback from the Salary Committee and other faculty.

The merit salary increase process is overseen by the Salary Committee, an elected committee composed of ten faculty members reflecting the distribution of ranks in the department as a whole. The Salary Committee is charged with reviewing faculty’s self-reported merit instrument forms, determining merit “tiers,” and recommending equity adjustments. In years when merit raises are awarded, the Salary Committee will take into account all annual Merit Assessment Instrument forms submitted by each individual since the last merit raise. The committee will make recommendations based on multi-year performance to the department Chair on how to divide the limited pool of funds available for raises.
