Please note: Funding priority will be given to events with wider interest, bigger impact, cross-campus and/or interdisciplinary collaboration; for example, a speaker that can attract faculty and students from diverse language units or other departments. All events should be free and open to the public.
Requests from Graduate students must include support from a faculty member (PhD advisor, or Graduate Language advisor).
The deadlines to request funds from the sponsored events committee are:
For Fall semester, the first deadline is September 4, 2020 (Events that take place up until November 17, 2020). Funds available for this cycle: $0000
The next deadline will be November 18, 2020. (Events that take place up until February 14). Funds available for this cycle: $0000.
For the Spring semester, the first deadline will be February 15, 2021. (Events that take place until the end of the Spring semester). Funds available for this cycle: $0000
The committee highly recommends that applicants also look into other funding sources such as the Center for European Studies, the Institute for the Study of the Americas, The Institute for the Arts and Humanities, and the Center for Global Initiatives. If you’re planning an event prior to September 10, please let us know as soon as possible.
